September 15, 2026
By: Karen McIntyre
SureWerx, a leading global provider of safety, tool & equipment products, has acquired American Safety Clothing Inc. Terms were not disclosed.
Based in Sellersville, PA, American Safety Clothing (ASC) is a global leader of critical-use Arc Flash, High Heat, FR and Cut Resistant apparel. The company established itself in Sellersville, PA, in 1949 and has been recognized as a category leader and innovator of highly technical and functional safety products for diverse end markets. ASC designs and manufactures a wide variety of High Heat, Arc Flash, FR and Cut Resistant safety apparel including suits, hoods, coveralls, tops, bottoms, gloves as well as other technical safety apparel products. ASC has built its reputation on a customer-centered approach, combining innovative, tailored, high-quality products with design expertise for workers in high-risk environments. ASC continues to lead through American made innovation, with the sole purpose of keeping workers safe and protecting the lives of countless professionals serving the harshest work environments.
This acquisition further strengthens SureWerx’s USA Made safety apparel offering and enhances its ability to deliver a deeper array of protective apparel solutions and complements its Oberon and Pioneer brands.
“Adding American Safety Clothing to our USA manufacturing footprint and their focus on technical protective apparel will help expand a critical part of our PPE offering,” says SureWerx CEO Scott Dowell. “It also extends partnerships that ASC has forged with other leading brands in North America and will enhance innovation by bringing the Oberon and ASC brands together across the critical Arc Flash, High Heat and Cut Resistant technical apparel offering.”
“Partnering with SureWerx, a company that shares our values and commitment to worker safety, is the right next step for our customers, our employees and our brand,” says Henry Thompson, majority owner of ASC. “Their reach into global industrial markets and deep distribution network will drive more innovation and accelerate growth of the ASC offering. I am thrilled that this partnership ensures our dedicated employees in Sellersville will continue doing what they do best, making the highest quality protective apparel in America. Kyle Phipps has led the resurgence of ASC and I could not be more confident in him and the entire team as they take ASC into this next chapter. The best is yet to come.”
